1888 Baptism Certificate - Champaign, IL. Kate Belle Jervis -- Adkins
"This is Certify That unto Kate Belle Jervis Born Janurary 10th 1885 the rite of Holy Baptism was administered in the Home of Thos. Adkins. Champaign- Chap'n Co. Diecess of Springfiled Ills. on the 16th day of October, In the Year of Our Lord 1888."
What a great historical item. The parents were Joseph and Catherine Jervis and Thomas Adkins and his wife were the sponcers.
This measures 6 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches and is in great shape. Please take a look at the picture and email me with any questions
Rev D. W Dresser on the Baptism is David Walker Dresser, Birth: Oct. 16, 1833 Halifax County Virginia, USA Death: Nov. 18, 1900 Champaign Illinois A son of Rev. Charles and Louisa (Withers) Dresser, he married Sarah C. Cundall on November 20, 1861. His father, Charles Dresser built a house, which was later sold to Abraham Lincoln in 1844, and is now known as the Lincoln Home in Springfield IL. Charles Dresser also married Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd on Nov 4th 1842 at the home of Mary Todd's sister Mrs. Ninian Edwards.
